On-site programs
Finding accommodation for the duration of their course is your responsibility, however we will do our best to help, including recommending websites and agencies you can use to find accommodation in each of our campus cities.
On admission to the course, you will be granted access to our student community where you can meet other students in your class, exchange tips for finding accommodation and team up to rent apartments together.
It depends on the type of accommodation you’re looking for and its location. These platforms can be helpful to get an estimate cost, or get started with your search: Nestpick, Roomster, Housing Anywhere.
No, you need to take care of your own meals. Our campuses have a kitchen area though where you can get water, tea, coffee, and some fruit for free, use a microwave oven, and store your groceries in a fridge.
If you don’t have the right to freely travel or study in the location you choose, you need to apply for a visa that allows you to stay for the required course duration.
For the 8-week course you can usually get a simple tourist visa, valid up to 90 days (for some countries available on arrival, check criteria online).
For the 12-week course we suggest applying for a student visa. Once admitted to the course, we will provide you with a certificate of admission that you can use to apply for a student visa.
See the location-specific FAQs below for more information on how to obtain a visa for Barcelona, Berlin or London.
Equipment
Yes, you must bring your own computer.
Windows, Mac and Linux machines are all fine.
Headphones are mandatory when studying on-site, and we highly recommend a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones. You will be joining lectures on Zoom every day, and will be working in a busy campus environment.
Our campuses have extra monitors and keyboards available on a first-come first-served basis, but if you require any other equipment you must provide it yourself.
All of the tools we use, or good alternatives to them, are available for Windows, Mac and Linux. If your laptop is more than 3 years old check with our Instructor team during the admissions process, and they will let you know if you need to upgrade.
Attendance
No. Our courses are specifically designed to be highly intensive, and structured in such a way that missing certain material could prevent you from progressing further. Generally it is not possible to make up days later.
We will always make exceptions for emergencies, or a one-day event if planned weeks in advance. However, you should not apply for a course and plan to miss several days.
We will always do our best to support you if you get sick while attending Codeworks. Every situation is different, and your tutor will work with you to find the best solution if you get ill.
See our dedicated page for more information related to COVID-19.

The interview usually takes around 30 minutes.
Online, through a video call.
Yes, you need a computer with a stable Internet connection, ready for a video call. This means with a web browser, a camera, a speaker, and a microphone (most laptops already have them out of the box).
If you have previous programming experience, you’re ready to take the interview. Otherwise sign up for our free “Intro to JavaScript” course, that will prepare you to pass the tech interview.
Don’t worry. If you fail the first attempt you can try again. Get feedback from the instructor, revisit the materials and give it another shot.
